Increasing temperatures along with particularly drier than normal weather in the latter part of April of this year caused wildfires across Phoenix Arizona, and Albuquerque in (N.M) New Mexico, in Nevada. (Gusts of warm spring wind also followed, which further accelerated the wildfires). People have been expressing concern about the unusually higher temperatures in these regions.
With such Climate driven occurrences happening more frequently, it is therefore advisable that the U.N Climate Committee should arrange a full Satellite Survey of the Worlds arable land to be carried out in order to give a more detailed indication of how much arable land has been lost to the drier conditions not only contributing to more widespread wildfires but also to drought over the last ten years.
(Additional Heatwave days are on the increase; with many parts of the world including the Mediterranean, experiencing approximately two additional heatwave days per decade, with the Amazon Rainforest Basin having to endure an increase of 5.5 extra heatwave days per decade over the last seven decades).
Global Average temperatures of the last ten years have been at their highest since the decade began, with temperatures being at their hottest in the last five years; with the previous year(i.e 2021) having the hottest temperatures of those last five years.
We should bear in mind that 2021 was not only a high carbon year (with over 36 million tonnes of C02 (Carbon Dioxide) atmospheric pollution for that year), but also that it was a particularly high Methane gas atmospheric pollution level year with approximately CH4 levels reaching at around 1,895.7 ppb /Parts per billion.
The World’s Climatologists are already concerned about the currently excessive levels of both carbon and methane loading into the atmosphere and with major global pollution taking place on such an industrial scale, we should ALL “heed the need” to reduce Greenhouse Gas temperatures, as well as being cognisant of the probability of a chain reaction of current World Events.
As previously mentioned and now emphasised by reiteration; our (i.e the world’s) accelerated release of CH4/Methane pollution into the atmosphere is the real X-factor that we on planet earth must address, and Climatic problems such as the melting permafrost in many areas of the planet will undoubtedly cause a lot more flooding across certain regions of the earth.
Additional improvements to safety measures in terms of Wildfire, Drought, and Flood Risk Management could be further implemented in many ways which would be of greater help in regards to the lives and the livelihoods of the local people affected by such Climate Change events; including farmers, wildlife, and improved safety measures to protect immediate areas along with any neighbouring Eco-systems.
Also, more adequate assistance in regards to providing shelter in terms of better infrastructure, along with things such as improved accessibility to clean drinking water, and quicker Hazard Warning response times (especially across remote and rural areas) would help in many instances.
Peace and Love to all.
